Wings and Whiskers
NEEKA – Orviss
Date:17 February 2025
Neeka a delightful contradictions, Neeka was known for her “psycho” antics balanced with a love for gentle ear purrs, especially on cold nights when she desired to be tucked under a blanket.
The difficult decision to say goodbye was one of the hardest we’ve ever had to make.
Neeka was a sleek black cat whose distinguishing mark was a single white whisker in her youth, which eventually transformed into a full set of snowy whiskers, a testament to her evolving charm. Despite her disdain for her brothers, Neeka had a soft spot for milk, often wearing it as a badge of honor on her face.
Known for her independent spirit, Neeka had a penchant for jumping on the bench, despite being told otherwise, showcasing her defiance.
TEDDY – Edwards
Date:27th August 2024
TEDDY (passed away 27 August 2024, approx 17 years old).
Teddy was originally my mother’s cat, and I took him on after she died. I absolutely adored him. He was a real character; he enjoyed chasing my female cats and nibbling the odd potato chip.
We used to joke Teddy had hollow legs because he was always hungry (this turned out to be because of his hyperthyroidism). His favourite place was on the arm of the sofa next to me. If I was having tea in the lounge, I would usually see a paw trying to steal something from my plate; if I accidentally left any toast with Marmite lying around I would return to find the butter & marmite cleanly licked off.
Although I have lost a few of my beloved cats over the last couple of years, I miss Teddy the most, because he was my little shadow.
Cuddly and loving, just a joy to have.
