The cost of veterinary care has risen over the past few years. Like all businesses, the cost of opening our doors has significantly increased, and sadly, these costs must be passed on. This conflicts with the passion that all the VetsOne team members have: which is to help every pet to get the care they need and deserve. We are all personally affected when financial considerations prevent pets from getting that care.
While we can’t do much about the current economic climate and the effect this has on personal budgets, we can offer up some ideas to help you use your veterinary dollar more smartly, or to make it go further. So, here are some ideas.
Nurse Consults:
We have an excellent, highly trained nursing team who can do a range of services for our clients, so you may not always need an appointment with a vet.
Seeing a nurse instead of a vet for work like anal glands, repeat injections, booster vaccinations, weight clinics and nails clips may help reduce your veterinary costs.

VetsOne Wellness Plans:
These are a new innovation that we are really excited to be launching. With wellness plans, we work together to plan the care your pet will need during the following 12 months. We work out the cost of that care and offer guaranteed prices for the next 12 months along with huge discounts (up to 20%). The plan is then paid with even monthly payments throughout the 12 months of the plan, allowing for easier budgeting for your pet care. They are very flexible and can be modified for your pet’s individual needs. These work great for animals with lifetime problems needing regular medication. Clients with animals in this category will be contacted directly during the year as we launch these programs. Later, we will be adding in puppy and kitten first year plans and then extend to annual plans for adults.

A Stitch In Time Saves Nine:
It is natural to consider “waiting and seeing” when your pet is unwell. In many instances, nature and time do a great job of overcoming simpler health concerns. However, there are many instances where health conditions worsen if left and this will end up costing you more in the long run. For example, watching a sick pet all day only to have to pay for afterhours care as it deteriorates more in the evening. Also, conditions that become more advanced over time requiring more time and medication to resolve. Skin, ear and eye are classic examples here, but not the only ones.
Delaying a preventative scale and polish inevitably results in more tartar building up, a higher risk of advanced gum and root disease leading to more complicated, longer dentals and higher costs.
In short, consider carefully whether waiting and seeing will end up costing you more in the long run.

**Dental Special**
VetsOne is offering preventative care scale and polishes at a fixed price of $600, for all cats and $700 for dogs, regardless of how much tartar is present. This is up to 50% off for some dentals.
Promotion is for dentals booked for March, April and May 2025 at VetsOne.
The Fine Print
Applies to routine scale and polish procedures only (Grade 1 and 2 dental disease). If your pet requires radiographs or extractions, the special price will not apply, but we will offer a 20% discount on the total dental price. We recommend a free dental check before you book so our vets or nurses can give you guidance on what level of dental care your pet needs. Please be aware that while we try to grade as accurately as possible at any exam, the true health of your pets’ teeth may not be obvious until we can properly examine their mouth under anaesthesia.
