These are classes which are held in a safe environment (usually a veterinary clinic) with only puppies that have had some vaccinations and no signs of illness such as Parvo. The puppies are generally all of a similar age and stage and class numbers are kept small so that each puppy can have individual attention. Programs are generally designed with an understanding of the socialisation period, and the need to provide positive experiences with other dogs and humans, and for puppies to experience and trial social behavioural cues. Even if you have had a puppy previously, you and your puppy would still benefit from attending Puppy Pre-School.
Since Puppy Pre-schools have been running, we have noted dogs that have attended these classes have a really fun and positive attitude to coming to the clinic. VetsOne runs a Puppy Pre-School for puppies between 8-12 weeks starting age. They must have had their first vaccination, but before the socialisation period ends.
